Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council have started the roll out f the Navman Wireless Fleet Management system through their fleet starting with their lone worker Cleansing vehicles.
Predominantly for the night vehicles with lone workers who are vulnerable to accident and attack the system gives staff, supervisors and management peace of mind that all is well.
With the historical reporting suite and replay a day, the Council have also managed to reduce fraudulent claims of damage caused by their vehicles as well as proving that work has been completed when they receive calls claiming that certain streets have not been covered.
The "Big Brother" scenario has never been an issue for the Council, however, with the management reports and control given by Navman Wireless' OnLineAVL software, an increase in efficiency and cost savings has been an inevitable bonus as well as the benefits of accurate start, finish and stop times.
