London Metropolitan University have recently installed a brand new two way radio system to cover their multi-site campuses.
Going through an extensive twelve month tender process, ETS Business Solutions are now the approved two way radio supplier to the University.
Using a multiple repeater system coverage has been given to saturate their 9 Central campus sites and 10 Northern campus sites with 120 handsets.
With 34,000 students instant communication between control, security and the various maintenance teams is vital for the smooth running of University operations and this has now been achieved.
Using the Entel HX481 handsets all workers also have the lone worker and emergency button alerts to bring assistance as quickly as possible.
For increased staff safety and to ensure Duty of Care is adhered to, the Man Down option was also required to alert automatically if the radio is tilted more than 45 degrees (i.e. wearerr has been incapacitated) the radio automatically sends out the emergency signal with the radio ID.
John Hunt, Estates Manager, said "It was very important to the Estates team that we could get effective radio coverage across each campus to aid with security, emergency response situations as well as the general day to day activities of a busy university.
