A stolen JCB fitted with a tracking device has been found eight miles away hidden in woods off the A46 in Market Rasen. The £45,000 to £50,000 JCB loader – which was fitted with a LiveLink satellite tracking device – was stolen from a farm off High Street, Caenby, in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, January 16.

It was discovered hours later the same day thanks to real-time location information. The farm owner was alerted to the theft via text message. Tracking then revealed it had been driven and hidden in Market Rasen.

Organisations that run any type of remote assets, be it vehicles, plant or machinery can benefit from the added security that our tracking devices offer.

This was proven recently, as a report in from one of our large motor factor clients advised that a vehicle was stolen and recovered thanks to their vehicle tracking device. A “tow away” alert advised them that through the night a vehicle had been moved without the ignition being started, this is becoming a common way of vehicle theft through loading on the back of a vehicle transporter.

The GPS data allows you to track the location of your vehicles and if required relay that information to the police. Some clients like the ability to Immobilise a vehicle through the back office software, this allows a user to send a message to the tracking device to immobilise once the ignition has been switched off.
